In June 2023, the United Humanitarian Front (UHF) received a grant of $10,000 from the Swiss organization HELVETAS for purchasing construction materials and implementing window installation repairs for people whose houses were affected during the war.
The primary outcome of this project is to restore the civilian population to human living conditions in their own homes and gradually return to normal life. It is essential for us that Ukrainians have the opportunity to live and work in their region and thus support the development of the local economy, which is vital during the active phase of the war.
- 102 FINAL BENEFICIARIES RECEIVED ASSISTANCE
- 29 BUILDINGS HAD WINDOWS INSTALLED
- 80 WINDOWS WERE DISMANTLED AND ADJUSTED TO THE SIZE OF THE WINDOW FRAMES
- 5 FAMILIES RECEIVED CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS FOR REBUILDING THEIR HOMES
Beneficiaries of assistance:
- Families who have lost their jobs and property due to war
- Orphans
- Older adults (including disabled individuals and Chornobyl disaster liquidators)
Which do not have the physical and financial ability to independently solve the problem of purchasing, delivering, and installing windows.
Even after the grant agreement expires, we plan to continue assisting the affected individuals with building materials that we currently have. That primarily includes window installation materials, gas blocks, boards, gypsum boards, cement, and other auxiliary materials.
Responsibility:
- NGO “United Humanitarian Front” (UHF) – we organized and carried out window installation and repair works.
- NGO “Proactive Generation” – searched for partners who supply windows for this project.
- NGO “Ukrainian Family” – was responsible for delivering windows to end recipients.
This project would have been impossible without
the support of organizations:
- HELVETAS
- Swiss Solidarity
- Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC)
- Re-WIN and Studio Buser (collect and organize deliveries of windows from Switzerland to Ukraine).
